But the MB and the homepage are fast. Only the server status page is so slow :S

I noted that the server status page takes some time to show (around 5 seconds, sometimes even 15 seconds). Is it generated every time it is requested? Or is it cached?

In some projects (not sure for LHC@Home) there is a big difference in performance between Windows and Linux (probably related to the different compilers and libraries used). Maybe you can give a try to some Linux distro and compare it to Windows. I know projects for which Linux is faster than Windows and also projects for which Windows is faster than Linux. Also, I found different results for my computer in Whestone benchmark using different distros (1.1 GFLOPS for Mint and 1.5 GFLOPS for Debian).

I don't get tasks either, and I'm running Linux.

My computer can run the VM only in one core, so the VM isn't a good choice for me either. I use one core with T4T and the other core with projects that don't need VMs.

That's good because it's doubtful you have anything useful to add to the conversation anyway.

I found a lot of trolls much more smart than you.

It's good that the MB has an Ignore option.

Maybe it's time to switch to an open-source compiler.

I'll not participate on henry's flame war.

Hi Kathryn,

it takes some time for BOINC scheduler to stabilize time assignment for each project if you run too many projects. I run few projects too. Since I have a 2 cores CPU, I run only 3 projects: LHC@Home, T4T and SETI@Home.

Cheers

What are the plans for this year, from a scientific point of view? Will we compute mostly high-luminosity-LHC WUs, or mostly 14-TeV-LHC WUs? Will there be an increase in work load when approaching to the restart of the LHC next year?

I assume there is no full-time webmaster, only programmers that sometimes read the fora, and only one of them has permissions to access the server. CERN is a huge organization and LHC@Home seems to be a side-project, maintained by researchers and programmers in their spare time. Anyway I'm happy to collaborate with this wonderfull project. And thanks for the fix :)
