I've attached to LHC@Home again and I keep getting the following error:

Any ideas when this'll be fixed?

I think MUON1 should continue as they are. Their client is stable, highly optimised and does what the project admins want it to do.

I don't understand why projects should move over to BOINC - I think BOINC is possibly the worst project manager I've ever used. Personally, I prefer individual clients. The worst part about BOINC in my honest opinion is the credit system (we've all seen threads on project forums where arguments over credit has come up with fairness coming into the situation).

Not possible at this time.

Any updates on this? It has been 8 months now.

I've got 2 accounts on LHC@Home, one being the account I'm posting on (AccountID 2483) and the other being a spare (AccountID 16610, same user name but the email and website address is different). Is it possible if 16610 can be merged with 2483 (so 2483 stays the same, although the credit from 16610 is added to 2483's total and 16610 is deleted) or am I stuck with 2 accounts? I want to be able to show the extra credit on my stats.

Thanks!

I've also been getting the same error message. It started when using 10 day interval, lowering it stopped it for a while, now it says it on 5 day interval.

What's going on?

I've been starting to get this message on all of my systems now, and therefore are not getting any work.

What does this message mean? And is there anyway to stop it?

Thanks

Nothing comes up for either of those commands. No error, no port, nothing.

EDIT: Problem solved. My router was playing up, wouldn't accept the connection and crashed about an hour ago reseting everything. The IP on this system changed to 192.168.1.4, and now I can see the BOINC information.

Thanks for all your help!

I put that command into konsole while BOINC was running, it didn't show any lines and it didn't give any error messages (it just went to another command line). Does this mean BOINC isn't listening for connections?

I've restarted BOINC and the system many times, which hasn't seemed to have worked. If I used the port 31416 on BOINC View, it doesn't give me an error saying there isn't a BOINC client under the port but it also doesn't show the BOINC information.

Hi everyone. For some reason I can't connect to my server which is running Mandrake 10 with BOINC 4.25 or BOINC View 1.03a. I have BOINC 4.19 installed on Mandrake 10, and the IP for this system is allowed in the IP config. BOINC keeps reporting that it cannot connect to the server, and BOINC View keeps saying that there isn't a BOINC client behind the port 1043.

Firewall on both systems is off, as I have a hardware firewall (router). This system is running Windows XP Pro.

Any ideas?

Both of my systems are full. Laptop has 10 days worth of work units and my desktop has 5 days worth (set to 5 days since it's off about 5 hours a day Mon-Thur).

I don't think my systems will ever run out with this load.

The drive I have LHC@Home running off (Seagate Medalist 3GB 5200RPM 256KB cache) does the same thing you describe. It doesn't bother me, as the drive isn't used by anything else (so LHC@Home has the whole drive) and it lets me know that it's running when I'm doing something else.

Is it possibly a checkpoint on the new WU's?

Last one that was downloaded by my laptop was at 1:45AM, no one else had a problem downloading it (it was a 1,000,000 turn WU aswell) so I think they may have fixed the problem.

Since they don't have pending credit up again I'm going to have to put up with the bad performance on CPDN.
