Same here. It seems Neasan hasn't caught this server/scheduler bug yet. Maybe treating the server with a hammer will do ;-)

OK I'm off to cry in a corner ;-)

I will try and get onto these issues again, I'm out at CERN today so won't be till tomorrow.

Honestly I don't know what has happened to jumptolastread

Maybe you could try to contact the people of Climateprediction@home ;-) For a loooong time jumptolastread didn't work, but since two or three months ago they finally made it work :-)

It's not working for me :-(

Gut! :-)

Is that means I will be able to attach my 64-bit OS to this project?

In the case of using the 64-bit version of BOINC, what I meant was that recent server code sends automatically a 32-bit application when no 64-bit application is available, so you can get work (having the 64-bit BOINC installed doesn't mean that you get a 64-bit application from projects).

For now, and as Sysfried said, the only option here at LHC is for you to install the 32-bit version of BOINC (this will only change when Alex and Neasan update the server code).

Or you wait until the server code here at LHC@Home is updated to the latest version, wich works better with the 64bit version of BOINC..

I was trying to see if Jump to new thread wasn't working because of my configuration, and deleted my Avatar by mistake. Now I can't upload the Avatar. It gives the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function gd_info() in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/inc/image.inc on line 7

EDIT: This is in IE7 and FF 2.0.0.3/4(linux).

EDIT2: When I tried to login (using account ID) I got the following error:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/user/header.php:10) in /srv/httpd/lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/html/user/login_action.php on line 84

However, despite the error, it loged in!
7) Message boards : Number crunching : Merge?? (Message 17167)

I first also thought it's a problem with the CPU ID. Until I merged successful with SETI and ufluids. Ok, maybe it's depending to the server - Version? No idea how to find out which Version is in use by the projects.

@Professor Desty Nova: As you can see, there are a few month between the last contact and now. Had have a harddrive crash, so since I did not have the old files, I downloaded and installed the latest version. Which it had been on the old disk, I don't remember.

Christoph

Since the people at SETI@Home are the main developers of BOINC, normaly they have the latest server code running. Here at LHC@Home, we have version 505 (you can see the server version of a project in the messages tab of BOINC;
30/06/2007 05:28:11|lhcathome|Scheduler RPC succeeded [server version 505]). I recently saw that they made some new changes in the merger code of the server to facilitate it. So only when Alex and Neasan update the server code will you probably be able to merge. Or if they clean the database of old results you can delete it (I still have results of 2005!!!).

Post:
Hello, I recently re-connected to the project after new-installing my Windows. Since it is still the same Machine, I like to merge the two computers in my account. When I tried to do that, there was no pc listed after selecting "merge this computer" in the window of the old entry. So I was not able to select the other one to merge them. Same at Einstein, posted there too. Any idea?

What version of BOINC did you have before?
From your results, it appears it was an old one. Since BOINC 5.4.x (I think) the CPU Type now has more info (and even more in BOINC 5.8.x), so that's probably what is preventing the merger.
You really only have one option, wait for the results to get deleted and then delete the host.

(Or maybe in the future some newer server software will take care better of this problem)

With Climate, you are runing a an "adapted" 64bit climate model, with millions of fortran code lines, that has originally been coded to run on supercomputers. Since the model started being coded in the 70s (I think I read it somewere) I guess we now all have supercomputers at home ;-)

The Scientists at CERN have to study the results before issuing new WUs, so sometimes they have a boatload of studies, and we are working on one while they study the last, other times they submit few, and we have to wait while the study the last. That's been the case in the last month.

28.10.2005 13:34 UTC
The current group of studies is coming to an end. Small bunches of workunits will be created as we finish off the studies. There will probably be a pause while the results are studied.

You can if they are public domain (author died more than 70 years ago I think; I think it depends on the country)

To be sure it's BOINC, uninstall it (but don't delete the BOINC folder, so you can restart the WUs later), and see what happens. Since the BOINC projects make the CPU work at 100%, when you uninstall, run something that stresses the CPU and Memory like Prime95. This way you, you see if the problem was BOINC or related to something else, like the sugestions in the posts above.
Good luck ;-)

It will compute the trajectories of Near Earth Objects (Asteroids, etc.) to find any that could sent us to join the dinossaurs ;-)
