The existance of Tachyons does propose some unique problems. According to theory, a particle achieving the speed of light also attains an infinite mass in this universe, so to postulate the existance of a Tachyon, which travels faster than light, would also propose the existance of parallel universes with differant laws of physics. If an Einstein-Rosen-Podolsky bridge was created by a Tachyon particle field then the problem of infinite mass might be resolved, allowing a faster than light particle field to flow through a sub-space corridor and managing to travel back in time as though our existance was some type of a linear phenomenon. A scary thought would be if we were caught in a time looping event cause by a LHC experiment that was continuously repeating a segment of linear time and never allowing us to reach a date in time where we get some LHC data to crunch.

So, does anyone know what the eV (electron volt) level was at during the LHC failure. Did it exceed what the Tevatron has accomplished. This type of data would help us to understand if this anomaly was as possible occurance of a paradoxial event such as described by Dr. Nelsien. But if the eV AKA TeV was below the electron volts already accomplished then this data of a failed circuit causing the problem would be accurate. Does anyone know what that TeV was when that section of the LHC vaporised? It truely could have been a physical problem and not a paridoxial phenominon as Dr. Nielsen would want us to believe.

I like the solid ground that Einstein used in his theories too, but the LHC deals with Quantum Physics and there the rules change. We are not even certain that there are any rules so that the possibilities could be endless. These problems and successes might be a result of our thoughts and personal views about LHCs outcome such as Dr. Nielsens string theory by making ourselves the observer that creates reality. Maybe he created the problem. I believe we should keep our minds focused on revealing positive and successful results from the LHC. So who has the stronger faith. Him or Me.

Sweet! Never heard of a Rat Socks fan, any kin to the Red Socks? But I am always open to other ideas and opinions. Thats how I learn more information and get smarter. Thanks! I do kind of wonder if some how the LHC experiment got out of time sequence due to a Tachyon or other particle field that might have affected time and location so that the collision might have taken place elsewhere on the ring and caused vaporisation in that area that was vaporised. Man, would it take some math to correct that error. But as always, just a theory and more questions like everyone else. I suppose if the same thing happens twice then we might learn something from it. This is exciting isnt it?

But a tachyon? Now there is in interesting twist of events. It would help me answer some of the issues facing the Reverse Paradox Theory I have been working on in the creation of the Universe. Instead of destroying the future from the past, a reverse paradox would create the past from the future. Still needs alot of work though.

Well, Al Qaidas desire is to put us all back in a time to a pre-Mosaic period of life style before many of the well known Prophets that have given us spiritual guidance and advice, ever existed. That is why their way of life is so destructive and pointless. It would be like reverting to a more animalistic existance that our world suffered from thousands of years ago in ignorance and without knowledge. Our combined intellect today requires us to find answers to move forward so that society can and will survive the barbaric resolve of a people that live without foresight or hope as the Al-Qaida. Based on the hopes and dreams of the many, a paradoxcal failure of the LHC should not exist despite the intriguing theory that has been provided. How ever we must always remain alert of societies conflict that unfortunately must exist in order for us to have the need and will to improve.

Give a look to the CernVM thread in the Number Crunching Section. I would not be surprised if some data could arrive to us poor fellows, like the crumbles fallen to dogs after the children have eaten in a Gospel parable.

Tullio you have a way with words that describes you as a wonderful writer. Writing is a newly discovered passion that I have. I just turned 53 Oct 7th.

With the Cern LHC at 1/2 power approx 3.5 TeV we should be able to exceed the Tevatron and perhapes get some new exciting data next month. That could also explain why Stephan Hawkings has returned to the lab. I hope and pray that Prof Hawkings health stays good as we finally get some real data concerning the Higgs Boson.

I haven\'t see any work since I joined with great anticipations. My system is set to do some serious crunching but I guess this is one of the hottest VM sites on the WEB. I just don\'t want to get too old and miss all the action.

Installed Win 7 rc pre-launch version and a few of the errors with Vista have dissappeared. You\\\'ll need to set the \\\"run as administrator\\\" check box in properties window for BOINC to access Browser privaleges when accessing stats or account results, but changing version compatibility isn\\\'t nessary. Looks like Win7 is going to be a hit for system stability.
