My C2D box is also displaying this problem, workunit stuck on 100%. If I suspend the unit, then the cpu is freed up for another task, but I can't seem to report the stuck unit.

Just out of interest is anyone on here a teacher? I'm considering doing some work with schools and thought some contact with some Physics interested teachers could be useful(assuming you're interested in the LHC's science not just crunching something).

Maths / Science teacher in Australia here. I don't actually teach Physics but I'm interested in the science behind LHC (plus I might be able to work some stuff into the physics program).

You can email me at: tyarh1<at>eq.edu.au

3) Message boards : Number crunching : Project encountered internal error: shared memory (Message 18609)

From general discussion over at SETI@home, I've gathered it involves two (or more) "processes" trying to access a file at the same time (i.e. BOINC and an anti-virus scan). I don't know what it would be for Server Access...

That would be true on a normal computer, but from memory isn't the Shared Memory on a BOINC server the space where they keep all the results for various platforms?

Does anybody know if the work the sixtrack app is already completely done? Is that the reason why don't get any work recently? So are we waiting for garfield to come up?

I saw some mention of Garfield being tested on the internal LHC net, but nothing official yet. So keep the rumours coming ;)

I've also had this problem, running Windows XP SP2. It has happened to me two or three times (latest a day or so ago), and seems to be related to the LHC Screensaver.

My symptoms are similar, I come back to the computer after a break (enough time for the screensaver to kick in), and it appears the LHC screensaver is stuck in the countdown mode. Only seen it happen with LHC, but with a few different versions of Boinc.

I believe some of the projects have loosened their version checking, however 5.1 is still in development.

Been running 4.11 for a couple of days now, hasn't had any problems, but it does appear to fix the error 113 problem (which I was getting on all my projects).
