It is obvious to me that the nice visualization is unrelated to results of the real calculation. The question is - what is displayed? |

The current graphics show just a bunch of gravitationally attracted particles flitting about, and not related to the particles being calculated. But a newer version is almost ready which does display computed particles in a sort of tunnel. We will release this soon, even though opinions here differ on whether the newer display is prettier or not... We will keep both options anyway. Ben Segal / LHC@home |

Well, let me put it this way: How do you know what they actually do with your Calculation power? I'm becoming sceptical now because Seti@boinc doesn't feature any results on their page any more. And what kind of actual results do you see here? The nice graphics shown by most projects could easily be random distractions so you don't notice your PC is actually becoming part of the Echelon and scanning for voice patterns and key phrases... *puts on tinfoil hat* *disappears into the mountains* Please don't take offense at this. I respect the work of the scientists working on the LHC, but I like to let off paranoid steam from time to time... MedO |
