Just got this message when attempting to post. trying again. "Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /shift/lxfsrk429/data01/boinc/projects/lhcathome/html/inc/forum.inc on line 312" ______________________________________________________________ Did your tech wear a static strap? Also noticed yesterday (but seems fine this morning) that the post / view count on some posts were off. A thread which showed 1 post, 0 views actually had 7 posts when opening it up. --- |

We tried an experimental configuration in which the database was replicated from master server to slave server, and all user web read operations were performed on the slave server while write operations were sent to master server. It worker pretty well for a while but after slave server load started to grow, it got behind from the master server. This resulted in posts, preference changes etc. not showing immeditially after submitting. Now all database operations use the master server so this should not happen anymore. For the MySQL error, it just might be caused by thread/message having been deleted by an administrator. Markku Degerholm LHC@home Admin |

From the information on the test you were doing, it sounds like the new thread was created on the master database, but when viewing (the next page after the post) it was pulling from the slave database which hadn't been updated with the post. That or the administrators work lightning fast deleting everyone's posts the second they're created. :) --- |

I do not know actually if it has to do with the new server (since pending credits and results pages were down), but the validation process seems to have some problems. there are many wus with more than 5 pending results and one could assume that these 5 results should have at least two that match. in fact, there must be something wrong. |
