I am wondering what has happened to LHC@home lately ??? For weeks, only sporadically new tasks for ATLAS and Theory; CMS tasks can be downloaded, but they still fail right away, after some crash about 4 weeks ago (so I am questioning what sense it makes to keep tasks available for downolad). Sixtrack and XTrack seem to be dead anyway. And, last not least, reponse time on their webpages take up to half a minute or even longer. So, very obviously some erosion seems to be happening at LHC@home. I have been a member for more than 10 years, but never I have seen such a deterioration. |

You can find answers to most of your questions in the appropriate subforums but you probably are aware of them anyways, being a veteran here. CMS has been borked for weeks. They will eventually fix it (they always did up until now) but it was a bad decision to leave the feeder running, sending out blanks and wasting people's time. Sixtrack has been retired for many years. Xtrack is the successor and while there have been software/application updates earlier this year, Carlo (the "father" of the project) has been missing for months. The response time issue has been around for a while and it's been getting worse, possibly linked to the disk overload problem. All we can do is hang in here, bug the mods/admins and hope for the best. At least we have intermittent ATLAS and Theory to run.
