No MacOSX client? All the other BOINC Projects have them, but not LHC. What's the problem here? And now no reset of credits to even the playing field? Did Steve Jobs piss the Swiss off some how?
Don't give me a line about "It's just for the science" or "I'm really into colliders!". This is about stats and competition. Let's get a Mac Client up and running now.

You'll find the reason for this mentioned in various threads: the LHC science app is very sensitive to variations in maths results. There are differences between Windows and Linux versions, and even between processors running the same OS.

The compiler they're now using for SixTrack has proved to be the best cross-platform system they've found so far, but there's no version for Mac.

But take heart - if its just credits you want then you've more time to crunch SETI or CPDN!

Given the current state of affairs @ LHC, we all have more time to crunch at CPDN.
