I see that cmsExternalGene is doing something and a bit of python/cmsRun been running for 2 hours. |

Funny how cmsExternalGenerator gets truncated like that. :-) We must have a selection of the fittest in the first machines to start picking up jobs -- the jobs so far have an average CPU time of 7-7.5 hours. Before the problems it was usually about 10 hours. I'm now waiting for my first tasks to finish, to see how we're doing there.  |

My first task after the resurrection: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=435019164 It is amazing how my tiny NUC (Intel Pentium Silver J5040) manages to do four jobs (120000 events each) in less than 15 hours. |

Anyone else having all new CMS tasks failing after 9-10 seconds? Or did I mess something up?

Occasionally, anti-virus programmes wrongly flag up VirtualBox. You may need to manually create an exception in your AV. |

I'm not running any antivirus, I messed it up myself. Also had issues with updating/upgrading software, kept getting some errors. Eventually I got lucky with the system recommening a version upgrade to Mint 22.3. Got the same error at the end of the upgrade, but running a manual update through the software manager somehow fixed everything (it didn't, before upgrading to 22.3). Got the VB Extension pack ticked in green, but I'll wait with rebooting the system until I finish a running CPDN task (will take 4-5 more days). Until then I'll just work on Theory so no LHC-time is lost.
