I've been running ATLAS and CMS tasks again just fine for a couple weeks now. All of a sudden ATLAS tasks keep failing then a CMS task failed due to the same reason. I've reset the project in BOINC, rebooted the computer and the 1st ATLAS task to finish downloading errors out saying it can't create the VM. There are currently no VMs listed in virtualbox. The most recent failed ATLAS task: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=425245700 The most recent failed CMS task: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=424866427 Computation is currently suspended. |

I uninstalled vitrtualbox and reinstalled it. Everything appears to be working. Still not sure what happened to cause newly started tasks to fail right away. |

Reinstalling VirtualBox probably fixed your issue. Next time first have a look in VirtualBox Manager section 'Media'. When you get your kind of errors, most of the time remnants of previous used LHC VMs are hanging around there marked with a yellow rectangle. You can remove them there. |

I'll be sure to so that next time. The 1 thing that changed that could've caused this was running windows update for patch tuesday. However, I suspended all non-running tasks and let the running ones finish. Maybe something didn't close properly. |
