Recently I discarded an old Windows 10 notebook and replaced it with a new Windows 11 Pro notebook. After having made the known adaptions in the system control and in the registry, tasks from all three currently available LHC subprojects are downloaded and running. However, what concerns ATLAS, no "VM console" button shows up in the left hand side of the BOINC manager; the tasks seem to run okay, though. When opening the Oracle VB manager, the preview window on the right hand side is black, no entries (also when clickling the green arrow named "show") BOINC version is 8.0.2, Oracle VBox version is 7.1.10. Does / did any of you experience the same problem, and if yes, come up with a solution? |

After you have clicked the green arrow on VirtualBox Manager and the black terminal appears, press Alt+F2 and you will see the terminal window with data. Unfortunately the 400 event tasks don't show the progress correctly but after a minute or so it will show some progress data. Alt+F3 will show the Top window about programs running inside the VM. ![]() |

thank you, Harri, for your explanations. I hadn't processed ATLAS for quite some time, so I obviously forgot about these details. Alt+F2 and Alt+F3 work as expected :-) |

Today I downloaded ATLAS tasks on my other Windows 11 Pro notebook which I had bought several months ago. I remember that I had big trouble to get ATLAS run on it at that time, but finally it worked. However, I did not remeber whether the VM console button in the BOINC manager was showing up ot not. Today it became clear: the console does not show up there, either. Hence, the conclusion seems to be: On Windows 11, the console button does not work with ATLAS tasks. It works with CMS tasks, and for Theory the button is there, but - as we know - the VM console does not function with the current app. |

Hence, the conclusion seems to be: On Windows 11, the console button does not work with ATLAS tasks.still I would be interested in knowing whether all other Windows11 users make the same experience, or whether there is something that can be done in order to make the VM console show up and work. |

Yes, I see the same on my Win 11 machine (Boinc 8.0.2). So I am using the VirtualBox Manager to bring up the console. ![]() |

Did you installed the corresponding VirtualBox Extension Pack? |
