After upgrading my Ubuntu box cvmfs_config probe brings up the following error required configuration repository directory does not exist: /cvmfs/cvmfs-config.cern.ch/etc/cvmfs/config.d Failed to read CernVM-FS configuration /cvmfs/ folder is empty and even as root I cant write anything to this folder. /ect/cvmfs has all the config files however. Any idea how I can get the project back up and running? |

What did you upgrade your Ubuntu to? I couldn't get CVMFS working in 25.04 so I had to downgrade it back to 24.04. I'm not sure what the problem was. It could have been namespaces, or an AppArmor profile, or changed behavior in fuse. It refused to mount the CVMFS folder. |

Is this the issue in this thread? Linux Kernels after 6.12.x by default load a module that stops VB starting. It needs to be unloaded to get VB to run whether a vm started by the user directly or by BOINC. |

CVMFS has a new version 2.13.0. According to the changelog, one of the changes is: client Fixed permission issue in mounting cvmfs with apparmor (Ubuntu 25.10+) (#3795) I'm not sure what version of Ubuntu you upgraded to, but this update might fix™ what might have been what was causing your issue. |
