This is one of yours: pp z1j 13000 - - herwig7 7.2.1 nlo-pw 21000 633, aborted by someone after 2.5 days.

one needs quite some patience with these Herwig7 longrunners :-); on my hosts, they use to run between 10 and 20 days, some of them even longer

My impression is that running the job in a docker container is (much) faster than using the Theory VBox-application, what corresponds with my measurements docker versus VBox with shorter Theory tasks.
Example: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=432930129 ===>> pp z1j 13000 45 - herwig7 7.2.1 nlo-dipole 54000 591
Run time 3 days 13 hours 21 min 59 sec ---- CPU time 3 days 5 hours 3 min 35 sec

I now have two Herwig7 long runners busy. One for 15 minutes and the other already 24 hours on my system:

Message 53118 - Posted: 28 Feb 2026, 10:02:31 UTC

It has been a while but I have ran many Herwig7 and saved records of them on several computers but not sure how many are left since the old HD's don't last forever and all the records I had saved here over the years are gone since they decided to delete the team message boards without giving any warning so they are all gone.

But I have one I saved from 2024 that was Valid after Run time 8 days 18 hours 41 min 28 sec
I have had some lately but I always check the running log and lately if they look like they may take a couple weeks or never finish I just abort them but on one or two of my older hosts I have some saved from all the different versions of event generators.

Your task was a resend with extention _2, because the Theory_2922-4856181-637_1 was too late, but that _1 returned before yours.
Your result seems to differ to the first returned one, I suppose.

How do you see they are still runnning? I want to look into it because i dont like this 100% hanging Tasks without knowing they do anything...cos deadline is coming..

when i open the VM in VBox it only writes "time seems to be backrunning...rotating" in one of the cruncher.

oohh i read it now..."show graphics"...never saw that in my long BOINC carrier xD is there any timeline in the logs i dont see that i know if it still gets finished in time with the integrations? ^^

Or is it enough to calculate the beginn of the tasks day and 496 of 700 done from the log as 2/3 is done in ..4d as example and it WILL finishing in time?

After the integrations part, the events processing starts.
That part normally is shorter than the integrations part. It also depend how many events have to be processed.
See the second last number of the very first line; mostly 100000, but with this long runners often less.
Example: ===> [runRivet] Sat Feb 28 08:17:18 UTC 2026 [boinc pp z1j 7000 250 - herwig7 7.2.1 nlo-pw 32000 649]

The first one has finished after 5 days and 15 hours. The second has done 10% of 32000 events.

Edit: The second one just finished after 5 days and 9 hours run time.

Looks like a fair amount of credits and I don't mind the long ones as long as they are doing something and don't just eventually crash
I have a few running on day 2 right now......and yeah that "100%" should just be ignored with these.
