Dear volunteer developers.
My post is a consideration about long running tasks (Theory Simulation 300.08 (native_theory)).

I’m happy to donate 10 days of CPU to the Theory project.
I’m not interested to know why the task is so long or how I can enhance the performance of my PC to reduce the time of the elaboration.

I’d just like a fair play by the develop team.

I explain me better.
Before starting the job, every WU has a “Remaining (estimated)” time of few hours (less than 4 hours).
Dear developers, please rise the estimated time to 240/300 hours.
Why am I asking it?
Boinc downloads an excessive number of WU because it thinks the estimated elaboration time is few hours. Boinc cannot figure out the Theory WU will last 10 days. Lots of WUs (lhc@home and other @home projects) will reach the deadline.

Thank you

Me too. I've wasted a lot of time when a long Theory task times out.

For example,
my current BOINC Manager work status is -

No doubt the timed-out tasks would have eventually provided a valid result - if they'd have had more time.
Why not up the servers default response from 10 to 20 days?
