I have Theory running on Windows in Virtualbox, I have quite a few tasks running, all ar around 2% now with about 9 days remaining, non anywhere close to completion, however in my stats the number of valid and completed tasks goes up constantly with lots of small runtime units being submitted and validated, is theory in the VM running lots of small tasks rather than one task that's due to take 10 days?

The runtime showed in BOINC is useless. The runtime of the jobs varying from some minutes to almost endless.

See http://mcplots.cern.ch/cache/stats/runtime-2687.txt

You could use the Alt-F2 Console to see the progress of a job. Most jobs have 100000 events.
With VirtualBox Manager 'Show' you could follow a job or install VirtualBox Extension Pack to use Console.

To avoid endless running on your machine, jobs running more than 10 days will be aborted.

No, 1 BOINC task is running 1 Theory job.

Ok not sure where the completed units are coming from, the client hasn't shown any as completed yet as far as I have seen?

The Theory tasks are coming from your Windows machine and should be visible in BOINC Manager event log.on that machine.

Copy all and search for Computation for task Theory .. ... .. .. .finished.

I have tried running vbox theory on my Linux box (native keeps failing) and they are failing now as well, is Theory just broken?

Theory task running complete, but the outputfile is not generated.
Don't know what the reason can be.
