a Theory tasks which got started on August 30 obviously finally got finished today (1 day before expiration date), but I suspect the resulting file was that big that it exceeded some server limitation or whatever: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=398586641 at the bottom of stderr it says: </stderr_txt> <message> upload failure: <file_xfer_error> <file_name>Theory_2390-1124830-530_2_r1780158854_result</file_name> <error_code>-240 (stat() failed)</error_code> </file_xfer_error> </message> I know this kind of problem from GPUGRID, where files >500MB fail to upload. So I guess the same situation may be true here. Does anyone know about any such limitations? In other words, after how many days of runtine should one abort a Theory task, in order not to waste a lot of CPU time because the resulting file will be too big, and all the CPU work was for nothing ? |

This is the Reality after the time limit after 10 day of runtime. Here is a volunteer, writing, 2% losting tasks have to be respected. |
