Hi, this is my first 1,000,000 turn LHC@home work unit. After running for 10+ hours and 70+% complete, I got the following messages. Is it just me, or is anyone else having this problem? LHC@home - 2004-10-02 00:00:09 - Aborting result v64tunescan142s6_8615_1_sixvf_1646_2: exceeded disk limit: 855682296.000000 > 30000000.000000 LHC@home - 2004-10-02 00:00:09 - Unrecoverable error for result v64tunescan142s6_8615_1_sixvf_1646_2 (Maximum disk usage exceeded) LHC@home - 2004-10-02 00:00:09 - Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds LHC@home - 2004-10-02 00:00:10 - Computation for result v64tunescan142s6_8615_1_sixvf_1646 finished SETI@home - 2004-10-02 00:00:11 - Restarting result 01mr04ab.2990.2224.797144.23_0 using setiathome version 4.03 LHC@home - 2004-10-02 00:00:14 - Started upload of v64tunescan142s6_8615_1_sixvf_1646_2_0 LHC@home - 2004-10-02 00:00:17 - Finished upload of v64tunescan142s6_8615_1_sixvf_1646_2_0 LHC@home - 2004-10-02 00:00:17 - No data transferred My computer is a Pentium III 800 MHz running Windows XP SP2 with BOINC 4.09. This is one of boincs safety features. We have said that the workunit needs about 30 MB but it has used much more, so boinc kills it. This makes sure that we do not take up to much work space or allow runaway disk usage. It seems very wrong that it should take up so much disk space. I will try to figure out if it is a problem with the WU. Christian Søttrup LHC@home Developer |
