Hi,

I tried to start boinc for the first time on my SuSE 9.0 desktop and got

(Fri 16:33) matthias@pc13 $ ./boinc_4.09_i686-pc-linux-gnu
2004-10-01 16:36:21 [---] Another instance of BOINC is running

But there is none:
(Fri 16:36) matthias@pc13 $ ps -ef | grep boinc
matthias 30165 2110 0 16:38 pts/11 00:00:00 grep boinc

Do you know the reason for that?

Greetings,
Matthias

Perhaps there's a lockfile in place from previous run.
Or there's read/write permissions not set right in the boinc folder which prevents writing to the lockfile.
