Some news from Xtrack/Xboinc project:

STATUS:
- BOINC API functions were added into xtrack: start, pause, abort BOINC submission, checkpoint, input
data handler and many others…
- xtrack with BOINC API functions tested without the BOINC test server (Linux and Windows).
- A test server was setup developed to learn and test BOINC functions.
- Release of xboinc as a Xsuite package (https://github.com/xsuite/xboinc).

PROSPECTS:
- To develop a xboinc validator in order to certificate volunteers' jobs.
- Test the xboinc and his validator with the BOINC test server.
- To test xboinc with real users (by the end of this year)

Sorry for the lack of communication. The Xtrack application is a new version of Sixtrack which supports GPUs. It is currently work in progress. The current status is that the application has been deployed correctly in the server and seems to be running. We hope to continue testing within the next few weeks.

Yes, we are in full-speed development, and expect to see a lot of test studies coming up soon (first on the test server for a few weeks/months)!

The README that you found on GitHub is for our internal reference (the steps needed to compile our executables on the server).
There won't be anything to compile on your side; just as is the case with SixTrack we provide a light-weight executable to run the jobs.

Cheers!

Received a batch of 38 XBoinc at the test server.
They are 24 hours from deadline. Going to let them go past deadline and test if they error out from going over. None have completed on their own. 5 were aborted. They do not respond to a client call for shutdown, but they suspend properly.
Not sure what work they are doing for 24 to72+ hours and if they were supposed to depend on a GPU CoProc.
Here's my post there: https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/forum_thread.php?id=557&postid=7927

Interesting meeting
From this paper

In development:
• Finish automatic retrieval and return of jobs
• Address credit issue by smart sampling of initial conditions
• Add enconding to protect against cheaters (currently only in conceptual phase)

• We need users! (not enough jobs - volunteers are eager to crunch)

Watched the workshop video and it sounds good. Looking forward to running them.
How will it work when it's ready for BOINC crunchers? Will there be a new option to select on Preferences and then we'll get the new executable and its WUs?
I suspect the link to github is for internal CERN users and not for us BOINC civilians.

How does one join https://lhcathomedev.cern.ch/lhcathome-dev/signup.php ? It asks for an invitation code. Or can I run their application some other way?
