Hello all, I've just setup my computer to run ATLAS using BOINC manager. 32 jobs have been downloaded and below are the properties of the first one. Application ATLAS Simulation 2.00 (vbox64_mt_mcore_atlas) Name wBFKDmjJYf0n9Rq4apoT9bVoABFKDmABFKDm9xGVDmABFKDmVAy9Cn State Ready to start Received Sat 19 Feb 2022 21:49:01 Report deadline Sat 26 Feb 2022 21:48:59 Resources 8 CPUs Estimated computation size 43,200 GFLOPs Executable vboxwrapper_26198_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu Adding to this is a line in the log that says: Sun 20 Feb 2022 11:20:12 | LHC@home | This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress There are no tasks running at all. My computer specs are: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS 64bit Intel core I7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHzx8 GeForce RTX 2060 Rev. A Memory 16GiB Disk 2.3 TB I wouldn't mind getting some advice to why these tasks are not starting? Regards, Frits. |

Hello all, the issue has cleared itself. Well, not entirely by itself. I aborted all tasks in the que and allowed just one task in the settings. It started downloading the 1.something GB VM and the one task which is now running just fine. Cheers, Frits. |

Hello Frits, I downloaded 5 ATLAS-tasks at once and they started almost at the same time. That's causing the trouble. I suppose, you did something similar. The 1st and the 5th task started OK, but the other three hanging around after the VM-boot with an error allocating sda device. Aborting those three was the best action, but in future allow them to start staggered. |
