rather by coincidence, I made the following observation:

the size of a Theory image file (vm_image.vdi) can vary from 799.744 kb - which seems to be the minimum - up to more than 2GB.
And the interesting thing is, that on one of my crunchers, all the image file are this minimum size; on another one, there is a mix of this minimum size and other sizes. And on yet another machine, there is not a single image file with minimum size, but rather much larger files.
This variance cannot have anything to do with the size of the diskspace available, because, interestingly enough, where the disk space is rather small, the images are all large. And where there is plenty of disk space, all images are 799.744 kb.

Is there any logical explanation for this behaviour?

the reason why I am bringing this up here is, that exactly with the PC with which I could crunch about 15 tasks at a time, all the image files are more than 2 GB large. Hence, not enough tasks would download, saying that there is not enough disk space. Because I have split my 64GB RAM in half for operating a ramdisk.

LHC@home: Notice from server
Theory Simulation needs 5588.39MB more disk space. You currently have 2041.00 MB available and it needs 7629.39 MB.
