Hi

LHC is using very high RAM memory usage. At the start its around 5GB and climbs to almost the Max of 15GB over a number of hours, and stays there slowing the use of other PC applications.

If I shutdown Bionic it will drop back to 5GB, but slowly climb back to 15GBs.

What is causing this issue, as I don't remember in the past it use to do this.

When I did a search on this I didn't find anything.

Is this normal ??

Kim

Your Virtualbox show this entry in the Atlas-Task:
2021-01-23 04:57:21 (15216): Enabling remote desktop for VM.
2021-01-23 04:57:21 (15216): Required extension pack not installed, remote desktop not enabled.
So, you can install the extension Pack.
Yes, Atlas need the most RAM from all Projects in LHC@Home, but
Intel and AMD use it in a different way for the Hardware.

Yes, it's quite normal you can set the ATLAS tasks to use less CPU cores then they will use less ram.
