I've been contributing in a small way almost continuously for over 15 years and in all that time have never bothered to work out how much it costs in electricity to run my 3 hosts. Small but finite. I'm a self-employed Private Hire taxi driver and as greater restrictions on social interaction and travel are imposed to reduce the Coronavirus spread, so my income goes down. By the weekend, I expect to be effectively out of work, with no obvious timeline towards my next wage. I have therefore decided to trim as many outgoings as I can. That means reducing my electricity bill and hoping that I qualify for some Government assistance. Stay well, stay safe. I'll be back |

I have shut down my "rigs" and am running only the two systems needed for my office to function. Also going to get a list together of why might want my rigs in case they never come back on. |

All mine are still running (although a lot of the CPUs are doing Rosetta to find cures, I'll still do a few LHC WUs). I'm also self employed, but in the UK there's government assistance (and my parents have money). Plus my electric company has halved my monthly payments and allowed me to pay for the electricity interest free over the following year once Corona finishes. And I don't have to make any mortgage payments during the virus. |

I was going to say if you're selling any off I might be interested, but shipping across the big pond may make that difficult, even at the best of times there are ridiculous taxes if they spot anything of value. |

I have dedicated one PC to projects related to Covid-19 and the other to physics, chemistry and astronomy projects. So I try to keep up with what is going on. My best wishes to all for the coming Christmas holyday. I have two sons and 5 grandchildren, but I don't know if I shall be permitted to see them. I live near Milano, which is in a "red" zone for traveling. I lost two friends to Covid-19. Tullio . |

I have two desktops and one laptop doing 6 BOINC tasks 24/7 between the three. My latest electricity bill was 116 euros for two months. I am a pensioner and BOINC is my only hobby. I have given my car to my son who lives in Tuscany and needs it to go to work in Lucca. I travel only by bycicle in my small town near Milano. Tullio |
