Since yesterday, I am noticing that on two of my notebooks running Theory, BOINC suddenly shuts off (every 6 to 8 hours). Which is, of course, not good for VM tasks. Hence, after restarting BOINC, the tasks are NOT continuing where they ended, but they start from scratch, some of them showing "PHYTIA Error in StringFragmentation: caught in junction flavor loop" while running the first 1000 events (as shown in console_2). This is the first time now that I am experiencing this behaviour - anyone else, too? |

I suppose with 'BOINC closing' and 'BOINC suddenly shuts off' you mean -> BOINC is crashing. I've seen this rarely with a newer VirtualBox version where I was looking around in VirtualBox Manager, when I had 6 Theory VM's running and the WinOS popping up a Warning Message about VBox Manager not responding. |

yes, BOINC seems to be crashing. VB versions are 6.1.0 and 6.1.2. On both Notebooks, 2 Theory tasks ea. were running concurrently. However, I could not see any warnings or other messages, since the crashes always happened when I was away from Notebooks. As said before, while Theory tasks have been running on these two Notebooks for many weeks, without any problems, all of a sudden these crashes began to happen yesterday. On a larger PC, 6 Theory tasks are running at the same time, however, the VB version is an older one (5.2.8). No such BOINC crashes there so far. On two other Notebooks, Theory tasks are running under VB 5.2.8 and 6.1.2 - so far, no problems there (but they may yet come). |
