Ok

I'm finally getting ATLAS WUs again (thanks for the assistance)

But have noticed something strange

The WUs are coming with an 8 day due date, but SOME are randomly being cancelled by the server and re-issued after 3 1/2 days , but not all that have been received on the same date/time are cancelled

No loss, since none of them had actually started processing, but why is this happening?

So no one has an explanation for this bullshit?

The ATLAS server knows (or should know) that I am returning 3-4 WUs a day, but sends me 12-15 every other day'

Then cancels them before the due date

I don't know the answer to you question but I see this happening also.

Do you have "Save work for more than x.x days" or
"Save work for xx days too" in Boinc-Preference active?

Looking at the workunit seems like someone else returned a successful result so yours was cancelled, did it actually run though?

As the others said maybe you have a big work buffer, it should go down over time once it work out the task rate properly

Nope

WU sent to me only with an 8 day due date

Cancelled by the server after 3 1/2 days and sent to another cruncher

I've got a work buffer of 1.5 days /.5 days

No other project has a problem with this

mittlere Taskdauer 3.65 Tage shown for Atlas on your Computer.
This is very long for a Atlas-Task.
Normally is a duration of 4-6 hours.

That value (3.65 days) includes the time tasks are waiting to start on the computer, not just the crunching time.

If it never ran then it didn't waste any time on your computer.

It wasted some bandwidth

I have 0.5/0.01 day buffer for LHC seems fine for me as it very rare that I have no internet connection.

It can take a while for the BOINC work buffer to get its self sorted out, so it will get less crazy over time.
