Not that I am worried or such as I enjoy crunching all of the apps here, but I seem to be getting only the Theory app tasks even though my prefs are set to "all". Is that what should be happening? |

I keep the number of tasks to run at 1. I don't see why that should affect the selection. I have no cache references in my log. That's OK, I will keep crunching tasks. Thanks, Jim |

Ok you have selected to only run 1 then the job cache is not a problem here. You probably happy to run any task but to test if would be able to run sixtrack application could you uncheck theory and check event log when it update. Server could be empty at time it update or host do not get application. You use Darwin 19.2.0 and maybe it would be an issue to application. I have no experience to Mac but it could help project admins to see if host is prevented to get task or fail to run. |

Only apple I ever had was out of a tree so the next thing is to see if your computers/OS is one of the Sixtrack applications. https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/apps.php Edit: after a quick look it looks like your problem is you are running an X86 32bit |

I think I see some unexpected behavior. When I open the Preferences window, the available apps are listed. It appears that the scheduler runs the last app (toward the bottom of the list) and always sticks to that app. If one chooses an app that is further down on that list, that is the one that gets executed. I expected a rather more random selection of apps to run if I turned on every app. This is sufficiently weird to me that I am not sure I believe it. Opinions? jim |

I don't see that kind of behavior. One of my hosts has selected all but CMS and currently it is doing only sixtrack, but sometimes also Theory and Atlas. Although much less of those and sixtracktest tasks come very seldom because they are not usually available. Another host has now just Theory and Atlas selected and it is currently doing both of them. Mostly Atlas at the moment, but it just finished a sprint of Theory tasks being the dominant activity. |

I'm still testing this by systematically specifying different combinations of selections. Your results are what I would expect. Happy Holidays! |

I think it also depends on the Boinc scheduler. For instance, on one of my machines, when I attached, I was told that none of my selected projects (CMS, Theory, Atlas) had work available. The website however still showed tasks available and Not long after that they were crunching away. So I think it also comes down to patience. Regardless, still have a lot of work to do with my app config. Never had to specify ram before so this ought to be fun. |

False alarm. When I set the limits to "no limit", I get tasks from all apps. Before, I was setting tasks to just 1. In that scenario, Theory seemed to have the highest priority. Jim |
