I am getting many "Error while downloading" on native ATLAS since 5:22:52 UTC.

I've got about 11 of them today on vbox ATLAS.

I think I see what happened - those tasks were cancelled upstream which removed the input files, however the cancellation of the WUs in BOINC didn't work properly. This means the WU are still there but input files are not. I will investigate what went wrong with the cancellation.
