Hi What are the school and work preferences? Other question: Does BOINC wakes up my computer if that one is in standby? Thanks |

These "locations" or "venues" are you so you can set different preferences for different computers eg. you might want to let a slower, older computer with not much memory to only run Theory, while you may want another machine to only run the more resource-hungry Atlas. Set the preferences then set the computer's location accordingly. I recently set one of my machines to HOME while I tinkered with how it worked best with LHCb, while leaving my other machines running Theory only as the Default location. Boinc shouldn't wake a sleeping computer but as it runs in the background, it might stop a computer GOING to sleep. |
