I'm running that version on Windows since the 16th of August without problems.

Stupid software will let me make a VM HDD, but it will not let me install an OS on it. I just get an error.

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine BOINC_VM1.

VT-x is not available (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

But my BIOS says that VM is enabled.
Let's crunch for our future.

It would help if we could take a look at your stderr but yours is hidden from us.

What is the OS you are using.

My wild guess is that you have Hyper-V on and it has to be off.

If so try this
Type Hyper-V in the search bar and it will bring up the *Windows Features* box and in there turn off the Hypervisor and reboot and try again with VT-x
