Ok, since Guido can't seem to read English when it doesn't suit him, I'm going to ask that the staff please enforce their rules.

Guido, why do you think you do not have to follow the rules?

and I'm a female, Guido. I don't have a "wife".

Admins - I know you have been busy with servers etc but are these rules in place or not?

There are a number of threads that are only fit for the trash bin.

Markku

If these message board rules are to be implemented, please enforce them. Take a look at this thread as an example of complete rubbish.

If you don't have time to moderate the forums perhaps you could enlist the help of some of the crunching community? I'm sure some responsible individuals will volunteer.

If you don't have time, and it is impractical or inappropriate to use outside help, maybe you should abandon the rules and remove them from the home page.

Ok, any volunteers? Not promising anything but I must confess that acting a message boards cop is not my favourite hobby.

Rules are good to exists, even if they aren't always enforced. At least people then (should) know what is expected from them.

If you need help I'll devote any time I can. Your right about rules. Its a shame that you need to police the rules but some people just dont think the rules apply to them.

I guess you can get to my mail address from my user info?

Hey might be funny really, a guy with NO posts offering to be a mod? Well, yeh its kinda funny but im a big fan of webforums such as this one, and use many.

Also it could be viewed as a good thing that i dont post on here, at least this way no one has pior feelings towards / against me, and i have none either. Meaning that im "fair" in all situations (except those involving my team ;) )

Cheers again

Just my 1 Cents Worth here...I think it would be a Grievous Mistake to make somebody a Forum Moderator when lately the majority of his Posts have been Directed toward 1 person...It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to figure out what his agenda would be...And then his next agenda toward anybody else he was displeased with...IMO

It was just an offer. If you believe my posts towards Guido for instance are based on a personal dislike then you are wrong. I'm just sick of having to wade through totally irelevant posts containing totally irelevant pictures. The problem is that 90% of those posts originate in one place.

This would always be the problem for anybody moderating. If the current level of trash posts continues then a certain person in particular is likely to feel persecuted and that will not be dependant on who is moderating.

Personally I would prefer to see the boards police themselves and in all honesty most people obey the rules through respect for others. Its unfortunate that the few who diregard others actually make the rules necessary in the first place.

Believe me I have other things to do. You are right that in the end the ideal moderators are the admins or failing that somebody else not connected to the project. Objectivity is easier to maintain in that way.

I do understand the comments however.

Regards

==========

I know it's not a personal dislike for the person but it's obvious that you have your opinion formed already on what he is doing. The other Projects have just learned to ignore him and he's gone away, the same thing will happen here once another Project starts up.

As long as somebody is harping on him he will continue to do what he does because he's getting the attention he wants. Just ignore him and he will seek another venue to get his attention from...IMO
