Hi!
I can see there is at least two tipe of simulations/computations in Sixtrack. The first ones, which my computer usually counts, have names like;
LHC_2015_LHC_2015_234_BOINC_errors_
And there is a long sequence of numbers, letters and that symbols: _ (I'm sorry, I'm not native and my dictionary doesn't know that word ;) )
I don't remaimber the name of the second type because I had them just one time but I'm almost sure that in their name was a word "Simulation". What's the diffrent between them (apart from time of computing)? And why I get almost only Sixtrack counts, despite in my preferences all tipe of applications selected are? It intrigues me but I can't find any detailed answer on the web page.
I'm sorry for mistakes.

Apps for ATLAS, Test4Theory, LHCb and CMS run in a virtual machine. You must install VirtualBox to run those apps. See Yeti's checklist for advice. ATLAS tasks (counts) are difficult. Theory and LHCb tasks are easier so try them first.

here is a description of what is does

If you want to review the code and really see what it does:

Thanks.
I tried hardly but I don't understand anything from the code's description. In fact my IT knowlege isn't stunning... But I've read "Sixtrack and numerical simulations" carefully. I think the "error-type files" may simulate diffrent unwanted magnetic effects. May I be right?
@bronco Does Virtual Box work well again? I've had it for a long time but it suddenly started damage every simulation. BTW, when I had VB my counted mainly SixTrack, too and computer just one time had some ATLAS simulation.

How about this if your more of a physics person?

http://sixtrack.web.cern.ch/SixTrack/docs/physics_full/manual.php

or this

http://lhcathome.web.cern.ch/projects/sixtrack/sixtrack-and-numerical-simulations

Correct it simulates which particles will be lost depending on the magnetic fields

The VirtualBox tasks are running well for me, be aware ATLAS raised the ram requirement to 3.9GB for a single core task scaling from there.

Hello,
sorry for the late reply. There were already a couple of posts were I tried to explain in simple words, how to interpret the names of tasks and what they do

Just let me know if you want to know more!
Cheers,
A.
