Hi there. I saw some tasks (LHC)) expires in few days. So I stoped all SETI's and choose 'stop delivery of new tasks' on them. But it do's'nt work: every time BOINC start to work, a new SETI task appears. Than I'v stop it. As soon BOINC start to work again, a new task appears. So I'v stoped the whole project. Now I'v choosed all LHC's which are'nt urgent, and stop them. Than I select also 'stop new tasks' for the project, but the same thing happens: Right after BOINC starts, and there are less then 4 tasks active, a new one appears in the list. When I stop it, after BOINC continue to work the next one appears.... a.s.o. To me it's looks like the 'stop new tasks' menu item in BOINC manager do's'nt work realy !!!

It works. Maybe your BOINC installation is corrupted. Maybe you need to uninstall it and reinstall.

Also, if you have tasks showing "urgent" then you are caching too many tasks. In your preferences adjust "Store at least __ days of work" to half of what you have now. Same for "Store up to an additional __ days of work". Give it a few days to adjust to the new settings. If you still get "urgent" tasks then cut those settings in half again.

Carlos,

In the BOINC Manager app, when looking at the tab for "Tasks", there is a Command on the left panel for "Show Active Tasks" or "Show All Tasks". If you have it set to show only active tasks, then you may have tasks that are downloaded but do not show up until they become active. Please check to see if it is set for "Show All Tasks".

Hope that helps.

That's probably the problem. I would add that if you do not see the left panel with the "Show Active Tasks" / "Show All Tasks" toggle button then you are probably in BOINC Manager's Simple View. The panel with the "Show Active Tasks" / "Show All Tasks" toggle button is visible only in the manager's Advanced View. Click View and select from the dropdown menu to shift between Advanced View and Simple View.
