The only project I am running in BOINC is the LHC@home. The problem I am having is that after running for a number of days, VirtualBox is reporting that 'One or more disk image files are not currently accessible.' Upon checking the Media Manager, I find a large number of vm_image.vdi files as not accessible. The files all appear to be left over from past LHC tasks.

What is causing this and how do I stop it from happening?

John

Hi John,
Sadly this seems to be a problem that only affects SOME users, myself included, and may only happen from time to time. I believe it is a timing issue between Boinc and VBox when a task finishes but Boinc isn't allowing enough time for the remnants to be deleted so it's not something you can prevent or cure. You can either Remove each vdi with a triangle individually or if you Exit Boinc at a convenient time and Exit VBox, upon restarting each, the offending remnants will be gone.
