Yep! We're hoping for a good year. We exceeded the number of collisions expected last year so we're hoping to get at least as much this year. Unfortunately statistical uncertainties go as the inverse of sqrt(N), so while we'll be much better off at the end of this year, then we'll need another *two* years to get the same improvement again. The High Luminosity upgrade, due about 2026, will help enormously with that, but I may not be around to see it; if I am around then, my ophthalmologist tells me I won't be able to see it anyway... |

Don't worry Ivan they can just rebuild us like they did with the Six Million Dollar Man back in 1973 I had the laser eye surgery back in 2007 and that worked pretty good and have the eyes of an eagle again. And of course the CMS is so large that I can see it from here.......and we can just put the images on our 100in 4K UHD monitors so we can see the bosons And they are having a Atlas Masterclass at TRIUMF today so maybe you should pay them a visit again since it has been a while. |
