When I upgrade my iMac to High Sierra, it appears the the OS will not allow Oracle S/W to be run. How do I fix this? |

What do you mean with "not allow Oracle S/W to be run". Do you get an error message? Something like this maybe? Maybe you can upgrade Virtualbox? |

Trying to install the latest version of causes an error during the installation. It says to contact the software developer which I guess is Oracle. Have you seen this? |

I'm running Windows 10 so this might not help for other OSs , but I've had problems a couple of times with VBox updates. I fixed it by running the installer again and selecting "Repair". This worked for me while un- and re-installing didn't fix the issue. Might be worth a try. |

... but I've had problems a couple of times with VBox updates ..why did you run VBox updates at all? I guess as long as a given version of the VBox works well, it's better not to touch it. |

I found a solution on Virtualbox.org in their forums section. "If the GUI solution does not work, reboot in Recovery mode and enter: CODE: SELECT ALL EXPAND VIEW spctl kext-consent add VB5E2TV963 Reboot in normal mode and install should be ok. This command does not disable the Apple security mechanism, it simply adds Oracle to the list of approved developers." This worked for me. |
