Friends, I'm sad to announce that I may not be as active in monitoring CMS@Home over the next year. Or maybe I'll have more time for it... My current grant support is not sufficient to sustain me full-time, so for the next year I'll officially be working only 60%, i.e. three days per week. Officially...
OTOH, that leaves me time for other pursuits, but if there's anyone in the North Heathrow area that has a job for a physicist/programmer one or two days a week, please get in touch!

Well Ivan maybe it is vacation time.

I'll admit you are the one that always got me to do some CMS here and at -dev and I will finish my last two dozen.

My wife actually has a friend here that owns a place in London that she always just rented out and I wouldn't mind moving there for a while but I could never get the wife to do that.

........well unless Cern wanted to give me $1 for each credit over the last 14 years

(but I think they want us old timers to just volunteer)

But hey you have been over here before and for some reason the sun is shining today ........

Yes, maybe I should take the rest of the month off. But I have a medical appointment next week, and my passport is about to expire (I've been putting off making an appointment for the interview because of lotsa-other-stuff(TM) happening this month).

Yes, I'm starting to make a list of stuff I want to do but have never been able to make it fit my work responsibility. Like a cheap lensless microscope that may be able to spot pathogens down to about 2-5 microns in a liquid sample.

Hate to rain on your parade, but they're forecasting snow here on Saturday and especially Sunday! :-{0!

Well Ivan you can keep that snow (it might snow up on the Olympic mountains here but I live on the lower NE side) so I will get rain after a couple days of rare March sunshine. (low 50's)

I found a lensless microscope for you

I got a phone call myself today from the hospital telling me I have to go to get a *nuclear stress test* on monday which takes 4 hours........and the worst part is monday is that LAST day I wanted to do this but its my typical luck.

The reason is I played golf since 1974 and had to retire 3 years ago since it was like paying lots of money to be in pain after 18 holes and so I decided to try 10 pin bowling again and after 35+ years I decided back in January on my 60th birthday to give it a try and ended up buying a ball and shoes and bag.

And I go every monday because that is the only day the place is not packed with people so now it means I have to wait 2 weeks which will probably be long enough to forget all the tips the local former pro bowler gives me every monday.
And once I get started doing things I hate to ever miss doing it if it is monday bowling or running Cern wu's.

Of course I hope the test says all is ok but then missing my monday at the bowling alley will be even worse!!
But then I am probably the only person determined enough to try to take a 4 hour heart stress test and then drive 40 miles to roll 10 games (over 100 frames) at the bowling alley
