Today is the day for another clean install of Windows 10 on computer HAL5000 who has been running 24/7 since June 2011 Now installing all those programs again for CERN.........newest versions of Boinc and Oracle VB One good thing is now the SSD is not almost full like it was earlier today.........hope I saved enough copies on the other computers here. Edit: I guess I should have added that this is the only laptop I have ever owned and also the only one that I have ever seen run this long 24/7 for almost 7 years. Of course I still have 8 other desktops that have been doing this since 2004 - 2005 The most dependable was always the old 3-core Phenom with the old X86 XP Pro even with less than 4GB ram (hope all my fancy 8-core pc's are not listening to me again) ![]() |

This seminar presents the observation of the Higgs boson decay to a bottom quark-antiquark pair by the ATLAS and CMS experiments. The results presented use all available datasets from the LHC Run 1 and Run 2 including the most recent 13 TeV dataset that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of ~80 fb^-1. The analysis strategy and the background estimation techniques are discussed and a comprehensive set of measurements are presented. https://webcast.web.cern.ch/event/i750541 Volunteer Mad Scientist For Life ![]() |
