Hi. I have some problems with my AMD Ryzen 7 1700. All apps but Sixtrack fail after some minutes. The problems doesn't depends on RAM, because I always have at least 5GB free. I wanted to know the reasons I can't run almost all apps with this project.

Is SVM enabled in BIOS?
This is the Hardware-Acceleration (AMD-V).

I lately crashed a couple of VMs with a similar error log when I tried to run too much client instances concurrently with each instance running a couple of VMs.
At the end BOINC filled my swap space very quickly to 100% and then crashed the VMs although there was enough RAM available.

After adjusting the BOINC settings for RAM usage (as high as possible) and swap usage (as low as possible) I could run much more VMs concurrently.

Conclusion:
In addition to maeax's advice you may also adjust your RAM and swap settings.

Ciao

I've activated SVM in BIOS but it doesn't work. All VM WUs fail after some minutes.

Hi Alessio,

your task logs show different error types.

This error can be ignored as it was caused on the project side and should now be solved:
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/result.php?resultid=174075200
207 (0x000000CF) EXIT_NO_SUB_TASKS

This error may point out a problem with your VirtualBox installation.
If you get more of them you may consider to reinstall VirtualBox:
2018-01-25 23:18:48 (6704):
Command: VBoxManage -q modifyvm "boinc_c9bb53b13255ca28" --natpf1 ",tcp,127.0.0.1,56457,,80"
Exit Code: -2147023441
Output:
VBoxManage.exe: error: Failed to create the VirtualBox object!
VBoxManage.exe: error: Code ERROR_COMMITMENT_LIMIT 0x800705AF (0x800705AF) - ERROR_COMMITMENT_LIMIT 0x800705AF (extended info not available)
VBoxManage.exe: error: Most likely, the VirtualBox COM server is not running or failed to start.

In general your logs show lots of blank lines which in my experience point out either network problems, e.g. closed ports, or problems regarding disk access, e.g. not enough RAM for the cache forcing your system to swap and/or a too slow disk.

To sort out those errors step by step you may reduce the number of concurrently running task (from all projects), run only 1 VM from LHC (preferably Theory Simulation as it needs much less resources than the others) and work through Yeti's checklist.

Alessio,

when you install Boinc and Virtualbox from https://boinc.berkeley.edu
you get a Version 5.1.26 for Virtualbox which is running 100%. Don't forget to install the extension pack, if it is not automatically installed.
You use at the moment 5.2.6 for Virtualbox. After deinstalling 5.2.6 or installing 5.1.26, don't forget to reboot.
The instructions from Computezrmle needed also to be tested.
You will now find the solution!
