I have a lot of disk space (717 GB) available for BOINC. But I have instant notice from server: CMS Simulation needs 7629.39MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 7629.39 MB. No tasks sent. Why? |

The disk space it is referring to is what you have allowed Boinc to use. Check your preferences on Boinc Manager (if you are using local preferences) or on the web site. Please note that local preferences override the web preferences. ![]() |

Here is my preferences: Use no more than --- GB Leave at least --- GB free Use no more than 90 % of total I have 1TB SSD disk and 48 cores in my system, but only 41 CMS tasks are running :-( The same problem 1 have in LHCb, but not in Theory Simulation. Thank you. |

What is reported in BOINC Manager's Event Log -> BOINC Manager: Ctrl / Shift / E If you want the latest info, change a local preference e.g. Additional Buffer size and have a look after: max disk usage: ???.?? GB in the Event Log. |

Found the way to fix the problem. Set Use no more than 800 GB Leave at least 10 GB free Instead of Use no more than --- GB Leave at least --- GB free Looks like "---" does not work properly. |

Found the way to fix the problem. Thanks. I have been having the same problem, even though BOINC reports "max disk usage: 371.74 GB". But I had left some of the disk settings at the default of "0". They are now increased, and hopefully that will fix it. It certainly looks like a BOINC bug that has lasted for some time. |
