Dear all,

CERN will be closed for the next two weeks for its usual end of year break. Our automatic systems should keep ATLAS WU flowing throughout this time, but if something goes wrong there may be some delays before it gets fixed.

On behalf of ATLAS I'd like to thank you for the huge amount of resources you have contributed this year. As we have seen in the last few weeks the growth of ATLAS has taken the LHC@Home infrastructure to its limits, which is a great achievement! Next year the infrastructure will be upgraded to better handle the load so we can crunch even more.

Have a great holiday season and best wishes for 2018!

Thanks David. Atlas and SixTrack are the only LHC programs which do not fail on my three PCs, two Linux and one Windows 10, and I am glad to be able to support CERN. After all, I have a degree in Theoretical Physics obtained in Trieste in 1967, and the results of my thesis were published in Il Nuovo Cimento in September 1967, authors Giordano Bisiacchi et al. I am the al.

Have a nice trip home, wherever it is.
I wish I were taking a train ride through the scenic French/Swiss Alps.
