since last night, no finished Sixtrack tasks can be uploaded.
BOINC says "transient HTTP error" and "server may be temporarily down".

Any idea what's going on?

Sorry, looks like we had a temporary server load issue during the night. Tasks should have uploaded now (at least mine did).

There are over 900000 task ready send for sixtrack. That might be the cause of the problem or also an outcome of problems.

Actually we are getting close to the limit of I/O capacity for our current NFS server for the BOINC cluster after we added more file servers last week. We plan to do an upgrade next year to a new storage back-end, that should increase capacity.

We are doing a cleanup operation right now on the old NFS volume that slows things down, but it should be able to survive for a few weeks more with enough space over the holidays.

I have several that have been trying to upload for over 24 hours but a couple times I got a few to go Up and Down

This is what all my tasks look like trying to upload on the Boinc Manager Transfer page (I wondered about that "error" but I see they are the same on valid tasks)

I guess the main problem is the deadline date for most of them is Dec. 25th - 27th

last week this was a time of five or six days, before the upload was reached the project (ATLAS). NO task was lost!
We have to wait..... and be hopeful.

I usually mainly run the VB tasks but since we had so many SixTrack tasks and they don't depend on the internet connection while they are running I have been running about 300 of these tasks.

yes, that's true. I remember well :-)
Here though, some 171.000 tasks are in the mills right now, and another million waiting for download. So let's keep our fingers crossed that very soon there won't be a jam which can't be resolved easily.

Yes I have had that same problem on all my computers along with it still a problem to get them to upload the rest of my finished tasks.

I also have 157 left to run with deadline at Dec. 29th and they will all be finished but I also have some that are finished and won't upload and the deadline for those are the 25th and 26th.

This has happened many times in my 13+ years here........and the worst time is always right now when all the people that are supposed to fix the problem at the server take off until after the New Year ........of course we do not.

So they either have to do something to change the deadlines regardless of what the tasks say right now.

I could just be running VB tasks here or over at -dev and those will get uploaded and the deadlines are as long as Jan. 18th right now (of course I get mine done every day)

So for everyone here especially the newer members with fast pc's.......I hope this isn't another *2005* here.

Oh and on the status page it says 1,360,881 SixTracks to send so since I can't get any of them maybe they stopped sending just so this upload before deadline problem doesn't get worse than it is.

I'm getting tasks on my two hosts (both Linux) that are running Sixtrack right now. It hasn't been steady -- I'm getting the "no tasks are available" message, too -- but enough tasks come in to keep the caches relatively full.

Mine are all Windows (7 and 10 ) and I have 9 computers getting close to empty so I will probably switch back to VB tasks in the morning.

Posting is overloading the server ;-)

I experience the same. Then after completion many will not upload, but after a while they do, unless one new and one older already not uploading for a week.
So it seems working but not all as it should.
