This is a short info to install ScientificLinux in Virtualbox 5.1.22 or higher:
After this you can run ATLAS-native APP.

http://www.scientificlinux.org

Scientific Linux 6 -> Download .iso

Install in Virtualbox 5.1.22 or later:
Machine -> New -> Name: is your name for the VM
Type: Linux Version: Linux 2.6 / 3.x / 4.x (64 bit)

Create a .vdi Partition with 25 GByte (dynamic)
8 GByte RAM 2 Processors VT-X / AMD-V enable Nested Paging PAE/NX KVM Paravirtualisation

After Installation of SL69 VM:

Open Firefox with http://atlasathome.cern.ch/boinc_conf in this SL69-VM.

Download BOINC.tar.gz and install_cvmfs_sin.sh in Download-Folder.

Install BOINC (7.5.1) in a new Download-Folder BOINC. Starting Boinc with boincmgr in this Folder.

Starting Terminal (Icon at top)

1. cd Downloads

2. bash install_cvmfs_sin.sh (Installation take a moment!)

3. in \etc\cvmfs edit default.local for a change of PROXY-Server
# for cern-proxys and CVMFS_HTTP_PROXY="DIRECT" as separate line if NO Proxy

4. cvmfs_config reload

5. cvmfs_config probe ->
/cvmfs/atlas.cern.ch... OK
/cvmfs/atlas-cond.cern.ch... OK
/cvmfs/grid.cern.ch... OK

6. cvmfs_config chksetup
OK

Connect in BOINC to Project LHCatHome with ATLAS and Testinstallation=YES CPUS=2 in Preferences

After a reboot of this VM you need 1.-7. to do once more.

Thanks for these nice instructions!

There is also a script at http://atlasathome.cern.ch/boinc_conf/install_start_boinc.sh

If you run this inside the VM it does most of the steps for you, such as installing CVMFS, BOINC client and connecting to LHC@Home. You pass your account key as an argument to the script.
