This is a short info to install ScientificLinux in Virtualbox 5.1.22 or higher: After this you can run ATLAS-native APP. http://www.scientificlinux.org Scientific Linux 6 -> Download .iso Install in Virtualbox 5.1.22 or later: Machine -> New -> Name: is your name for the VM Type: Linux Version: Linux 2.6 / 3.x / 4.x (64 bit) Create a .vdi Partition with 25 GByte (dynamic) 8 GByte RAM 2 Processors VT-X / AMD-V enable Nested Paging PAE/NX KVM Paravirtualisation After Installation of SL69 VM: Open Firefox with http://atlasathome.cern.ch/boinc_conf in this SL69-VM. Download BOINC.tar.gz and install_cvmfs_sin.sh in Download-Folder. Install BOINC (7.5.1) in a new Download-Folder BOINC. Starting Boinc with boincmgr in this Folder. Starting Terminal (Icon at top) 1. cd Downloads 2. bash install_cvmfs_sin.sh (Installation take a moment!) 3. in \etc\cvmfs edit default.local for a change of PROXY-Server # for cern-proxys and CVMFS_HTTP_PROXY="DIRECT" as separate line if NO Proxy 4. cvmfs_config reload 5. cvmfs_config probe -> /cvmfs/atlas.cern.ch... OK /cvmfs/atlas-cond.cern.ch... OK /cvmfs/grid.cern.ch... OK 6. cvmfs_config chksetup OK 7. TOP Connect in BOINC to Project LHCatHome with ATLAS and Testinstallation=YES CPUS=2 in Preferences After a reboot of this VM you need 1.-7. to do once more. |

Thanks for these nice instructions! There is also a script at http://atlasathome.cern.ch/boinc_conf/install_start_boinc.sh If you run this inside the VM it does most of the steps for you, such as installing CVMFS, BOINC client and connecting to LHC@Home. You pass your account key as an argument to the script. |
