Hello all. I have a home server with boinc installed and I would like ask how I should configure LHC@home to get the most out of my hardware.

My server specs:

OS: Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS
CPU: Xeon D-1520 (4 cores 8 threads @ 2.4GHz)
RAM: 32GB (registered ECC DDR4 @ 2133MHz)
SWAP: 32GB swap space stripped across 4 HDD
DISK: 256GB for boinc LV on RAID 10

In addition to LCH@home tasks I do Einstien@home GPU tasks and they take 1 logical CPU to run the GPU. These tasks only run one at time using about 1GB of ram and very litte disk space.

So how many tasks should I let LHC@home run given my setup? Please explain your answers or provide links to documentation, that way I learn more than just a number.

Hi Laz,

in the message-folder of Atlas is Yeti's Checklist.
This is a first info for you.
Otherwise Theory-Tasks are more easy to begin with LHCatHome or Sixtrack(at the moment no work every day).
