How does the project determine what project tasks you get?
I know that some programs are out of work or like the CMS program problem, but how is it I always get six track tasks even when every program is checked in preferences?

Did you already prepare your PC for the VirtualBox applications ? If so, deselect Sixtrack and see what happens.

If not, take a journey through my checklist

I have been through you checklist...but perhaps something acted up again. I'll have a look.

Well there is of course work available for both SixTrack and the experiments!
Just another manifestation of the scheduler problems with KHC@home.
Apologies but I can't do anything. Eric.

It seems to be still a problem of your client, as my PCs get Atlas-Work:

This is an Atlas-WU:

Check in my checklist Nr. 4 and 5.

Is BOINC recognizing VirtualBox ? Check in Event-Log right after Startup of BOINC; it should tell you the installed version.

8 GB memory is not really much, VirtualBox-Tasks need round about 2 GB each

Do you enough disk-space for VirtualBox on your harddisc ?

Checklist 4 is double green.
Checklist 5 - 1 showed up again. I had it at 0 the last time I had vbox troubles.
Changed it back to 0 again and finally rolling with the other projects.

What causes the value to reset to 1?
I hate having to go into that file all the time and changing the value to 0.

Good, excuse my ignorance but what did you reset to 0?
Thanks. Eric.

What causes the value to reset to 1?

Be carefull that you closed your BOINC-Client successfully before you change anything in client_state.xml. Otherwise BOINC will overwrite your changes

It is not enough to stop BOINC-Manager, you have to enshure that the BOINC-Client is finished. You could try "Shutdown connect client" in BOINC-Manager

If this is not the cause of the problem, then BOINC assumes something is wrong with your config and re-sets it to 1

I'll give that a try tonight when I shut down before bed.
I have just been using Exit.

See Yeti's checklist in another thread.
It's a value in client_state.xml

Thanks for being around Yeti.
I'll use the shutdown tonight and check client_state in the morning.
I'll bet that is what has been causing all my VM problems lately...using Exit.
