The validator queue slowly re-started to run... Very slowly... |

The ready-to-send queue is running low on tasks and is rapidly sinking. Is this planned or is there a problem with task generation? |

Maybe, just maybe, there isn't any work available? Why do people expect it to be a continuous flow? There are tasks when the scientists need us to do stuff. There are 4 subprojects here, do one of the others. Or use another project as backup, there's 30 major ones and countless small ones. |

Maybe, just maybe, there isn't any work available? Why do people expect it to be a continuous flow? I don't think Harri was expecting that. He just kindly asked A) "Is this planned" - which could well be the situation and in that case it would be interesting for users to know that. Not that we demand to know. B) "is there a problem with task generation?" - which is not an impossible scenario. Then it would also be interesting to read about that. Nobody demanding anything. |

We should all expect the work to be on and off as they produce batches, try new things, do non-computing work with the results, etc. I see no point in discussing things like "why has it run out again?"Maybe, just maybe, there isn't any work available? My point was just to draw the attention of those who manage the project that there might be a problem on the server land. Especially as we are heading to weekend. This would not be the first time that project servers and work flow suffer an unexpected hick-up and admins don't notice it. I do run the other sub-projects here (and other Boinc projects as well) so I am not worried that I would run out of work. |

Unless the server folk are at home, and an admin in here could phone them up.... |

Hello, Indeed, the Sixtrack WUs have been on a historical low, our apologies for that. This is due to a few factors (see my recent post), but things are back to normal and we should be up to speed anywhere in the coming weeks! Cheers Frederik |

I don't seem to get WU very often from this project. Is there any requirement for my PC, like the available RAM must be larger than 2GB, or is it just because there is no WU available at the moment? |

Does the amount of sixtrack tasks still "In progress" ever have any effect on the schedule when a new batch became available ? I think there where a few large batches of sixtrack tasks lately, one after another. It just seems the last few tasks "in progress" would again take ages to finish. Currently for example about 87 tasks still in progress (out of initial +100K per batch ??) and "Users in last 24 hours : 3 ". Barely anything at all happening at this point or extremely slow progress with the remaining anyway. Just wondering ... if that anti-exponential processing speed during final lap in general had any effect on next batch becoming available ? |

I don't think so. Each batch will be a particular study, or concurrent studies, so a set amount of work to do. When that work is all out, they wait for returns and process those results then possibly issue more work based on those results ... or not. The few tasks listed as In Progress are likely to be on slow hosts or there's been a system or user error on a host. They will eventually time out and be reissued. |

Yeah, something has to agree with your theory as there is still 1 task it seems holding everything up. It started with just 8 a couple days ago and now down to just that last 1 WU. Curious to see what happens (and how quickly) after this last 1 WU is finished. |

New tasks are available. Get them while you can! |

We really should do something about how Sixtrack work always just sits there waiting for the due date and when we see members with hundreds of tasks that have not even connected to the server for over 5 days. Many of us complete them and send them back by the thousands in just a couple days. Maybe send the ones back out that don't connect to the server after 3 days and see them all finished in most likely one day. (mainly the last 10K like we have right now) and most of the time even more. Maybe get work as fast as you send it back. I don't have the newest and fastest hosts but I sent all of mine back a week ago (6,328) |

WCG is since months out of Service, changed from IBM to Krembil, so, many Volunteers have PC-Power ftm free. |

Greetings! Just an update... (2024-Feb-01) I have not seen sixtrack nor sixtracktest WU for several weeks. Other than that, both Universeathome and DENISathome say that they will not be generating WU for an indefinite time. |
