I keep getting the following message from the server:

"CMS Simulation needs 725.25MB more disk space. You currently have 6904.15 MB available and it needs 7629.39 MB."

The thing is, the drive on which I have the program currently shows over 50GB free, my SSD has over 17GB free, and my archive drive has over 2TB free. Even if it were storing data in a different drive than BOINC, this shouldn't be an issue. Further, if this is GPU space needed, my card (GTX 1070) has 8GB of RAM, so I can't imagine a single memory bottleneck in my system.

Please advise

It's not about how much free disk you have, but how much disk space you have allowed to BOINC to use.

Open BOINC Manager (Advanced View) and open the Disk tab to see how much is free available to BOINC.
From the Options Menu you can select computing preferences to increase BOINC's allowed disk space.
