I've aborted this task, because even though Boinc Manager said it was running, it never progressed beyond 0.000% complete, and there was no "Show VM Console" button. Other LHC tasks are running just fine.

How long had it been running?

That's hard to say, because the elapsed time remained on "---". It's possibly been "running" intermittently for weeks. I noticed a few days ago that it seemed to be making no progress and was getting close to the deadline, whilst other (later) LHC tasks ran and completed. Today I kept a close eye on it over the course of several hours, and decided it was dead.

OK, I wanted to know if it had only been running ~10 mins. My work Windows PC refuses to start up the VM and times out after 10 mins, but come to think of it I'm pretty sure BOINC counts elapsed time then anyway. So your problem is not my problem. :-( or :-) ?

Mine didn't time out.

I now have two more CMS tasks that are suspiciously inactive, but it's impossible to tell at the moment if Boinc has tried to run them (short of sitting here watching the most boring show on Earth).

I've just aborted the two suspiciously inactive CMS tasks, which simply sat there doing nothing even after a Theory task had completed and reported, and I had suspended all other tasks.
