Can't seem to get any work units. Is this project still alive? |

As no one has responded I will assume this project is no longer active and pass the word on. |

Not very constructive to wait less than 1/3 of a day for an answer. This project is indeed alive. But it has currently only few WUs. |

Philipp Thank you for your reply. You may think I was hasty but I had about 20 views of this question and no one had the courtesy to simply say "yes" until you. |

My apologies. We have had an even more difficult time than usual before and around Easter. A fairly steady flow of work should be coming now while we develop our CERN infrastructure. This does give me the chance to say that I attended a Seminar on HTCondor yesterday and I am beginning to realise what an enormous amount of work has been by done by you BOINC volunteers. I shall try and quantify this (CPU Hours? FLOPY?) and post to the MBs. Thanks for your interest and support. Eric. |

Once in a while LHC@home wakes up and showers me with tasks. vLHC@home sends me a maximum of 2 tasks. Atlas@home sends me a number of tasks equal to the number of cores, 4 on the Windows 10 PC and 2 on this Linux host. Maybe LHC@home should adopt the same technique. Tullio |

Hmmm, not sure why this should happen. As far as I know we are just using the BOINC scheduler.....I'll ask my colleagues. While it is "normal" that there may be no work available, I can't see why you should get a shower of WUs. Eric. |

It's just a matter of luck ... sometimes, on of my machine will get work (filling up cache), but all other will miss the window and will remain idle ... :( |

Well thanks for support. Hang in there. It has only been 10 years. I'm hoping for better things THIS year and working towards that. Eric. |

Well thanks for support. Hang in there. It has only been 10 years. Hi Eric - and thanks again for all your work behind the scenes. I get the impression the supply of WUs has been fewer than usual recently, tho' like other posters I do get a welcome surprise download from time to time since adjusting priorities. I look forward to your idea of more specific reporting on what has been achieved - will be interesting. Roger "Any fool can appreciate mountain scenery. I decided to grab a few tasks here since it had been a few months and the server said I could get some. Reminded me of a couple things here.......I couldn't post here until I got a few Valids......AND it gave my 8-core 112 tasks like I didn't have any other tasks running already! Been a long time since my first day with the Sixtrack team in 2004 Back to work......102 left to crunch here right now. Volunteer Mad Scientist For Life |

Patience please; the CERN infrastructure is falling apart. I can't build Windows executables anymore. I will post when we are organised and I expect we shall have lots of work. Eric. (We are volunteers mainly too, personally ten years retired now, but still fighting!) Eric. |

No problem Eric You can tell I tend to stay with the project as long as they exist when it comes to Cern (I will start my 13th year here next month) and I have been retired for almost 20 years. Glad to see you have some tasks running. I always have plenty of the vLHC,Atlas,vLHC-dev,and some Atlas-alpha too. But I like to get some here for my 8-core to do......and you know what can happen if our Rac drops down too far But just remember you can always email me if that happens again Volunteer Mad Scientist For Life |
