Just noticed error rate has doubled to about 6% in last 24 hours. Seem to be ERR_RESULT_DOWNLOAD which I have confirmed my checking MBs right now. Any help/detailed info welcome while I notify CERN support. (Another Friday afternoon problem!) Eric. |

Doesn't seem to be any pattern on my computers I have 5 identical ones, 3 have errors and 2 don't. Error is always: <core_client_version>7.2.42</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> WU download error: couldn't get input files: <file_xfer_error> <file_name>w-4.5_job.B1injection__16__s__64.281_59.3137__16_18__5__49.4119_1_sixvf_boinc7928.zip</file_name> <error_code>-224 (permanent HTTP error)</error_code> <error_message>permanent HTTP error</error_message> </file_xfer_error> </message> ]]> There all B1 injection jobs, maybe that batch is bad? Or permissions on the folder with B1 jobs in? |

I noticed a few of these during the course of today - a very small, sporadic, problem, with the majority of jobs downloading just fine. Here's a selection from one of my hosts: Error tasks for host 9924593 They all failed with #define ERR_HTTP_PERMANENT -224 // represents HTTP 404 or 416 error and every wingmate (validation partner) also failed to download them: that suggests that the problem is at the server end, with the files either missing or inaccessible to the download server. All the workunits that I checked were created around midday on Saturday 5 July. |

Thanks for feedback; pretty sure we have a server problem indeed. Usually this is permissions because some daemon was [re-]started as root or something. Looking at it. Eric. |

OK; thanks to your help. I have a whole bunch of problematic WUs from a new user. All seem to be called w- something. Doing what I can to identify the issue but may be Monday before I can solve it with his help. Enjoy the weekend. Eric. |

I just found one created a little earlier than all the rest: WU 18788924. One user downloaded it successfully, but all the others failed. The second volunteer on that job - host 9649253 seems to be having great difficulty attaching to the project and downloading the sixtrack executable, but that's a different issue. |
